Remembering Peter, we share message from good friend and aviation historian Dave Homewood.

Peter was an absolute legend of a man. He put so much into running the New Zealand Bomber Command Association for many years, and he absolutely loved spending time with the veterans, his Bomber Boys. He was encyclopaedic in his knowledge of Bomber Command, and the part that was played by New Zealanders in that branch of the RAF in WWII.

He was an author and a historian, and for many years he was editor of the excellent NZBCA newsletter. He organised many Bomber Command Association events, and he visited so many of the Bomber Boys around the Auckland region regularly, and more widespread around the country as often as he could.

He and I have shared many adventures over the years, and we created this New Zealand Bomber Command Association Facebook page together some years ago.

Peter was also a much appreciated Moderator on my Wings Over New Zealand Forum, and he attended many of our Forum Meets, and spoke at several of them. He also appeared on several occasions on my WONZ Show podcast, talking about RAF Bomber Command and the Kiwis who were involved.

He was one of the greatest guys around and will be missed tremendously by many people. My condolences to Karola, Sarah and all the family. RIP Peter.

Your friend, Dave Homewood
