The IBCC Lancaster Poppy Display is formed from over 20,000 individually handcrafted ceramic poppies, with some shaped into a Lancaster Bomber. The installation at IBCC honours the 80th anniversary of VE Day and will be on display from Easter until the end of August.
There are also 617 handcrafted poppies on the Memorial Spire, in honour of 617 Squadron (the Dambusters).
The Lancaster poppy display was created by local artist Darius Sirmulevicius. He said he was pleased with people’s reactions to the display and added: “I have put my heart and soul into this.”
